What my own tests showed

I started by testing whether cleanup drops what people say. Mostly it didn't. The tests did show two smaller things worth designing for: choices I changed mid-sentence, and a word Flow misheard. That's how Thought Check became Review Revisions.

The tests

Evidence records, the test workspace, and results

Every record is judged against what I actually said, not against the script I meant to read. Fields I haven't filled in from a recording stay empty.

What I've found so far

  • The ten controlled passages largely kept their substantive meaning.
  • The journal comparison largely kept my tone and the story's details.
  • Several spoken corrections came out right.
  • In my second guest-list test, I meant to keep Leo and drop Sam. The output kept both. (In the first test, adding Sam back was on purpose.)
  • A complex scheduling dictation kept the final date and time, but wrote “the smaller group” without saying who that was.
  • Flow heard “Mobile Fix Strip” as “mobile fix trip.”

How to read these

One speaker, my own Flow app. These are my readings of my own runs, reported Oct 16, 2026. They aren't Flow's error rate, and none has been checked against its recording yet. Each record says which proposal it informs.

To finish a record, paste the actual output, write what I actually said from the recording, and mark it verified.

Where this started

Reviewers said cleanup changed what they meant

These reviews led to the first hypothesis: that people may not notice when a cleaned-up draft drops a detail or a condition. My runs mostly didn't show that, so I replaced the omission check (Thought Check). The reviews still show the worry exists for some people. They don't show how often it happens.
